Arsenal legend, Robert Pires, has said that he was lucky to play against Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi during his career as a footballer.
Pires also compared Messi to fellow Argentine legend, the late Diego Maradona.
The Frenchman has played for several top European clubs during his career, including Arsenal and Villareal.
He has shared the pitch with the likes of Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, and more.
However, Pires opined that Messi is a different creature on the pitch.
“Sharing a pitch with him is a privilege. I was lucky enough to face him and other very good players like Zidane, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho… But Messi has something more, something different. A little of what Diego Maradona had,” Pires said to La Nacion.
