Arsenal have appointed Max Porter as the club’s new under-21s head coach.

The Premier League North London club made this known in a statement on their website on Friday.

Max joined Arsenal in 2017 as the club’s under-9s head coach.

He later took the role of head coach for different age levels, including under-13s, under-17s and under-19s, respectively.

Max becomes Arsenal’s under-21s head coach ahead of the new season after the exit of Mehmet Ali from the club.

Recall that Ali had joined Premier League side Brentford’s first team coaching staff this summer.

Reacting, Arsenal’s Academy manager, Per Mertesacker, insisted that Max has the “qualities needed to be a successful leader and coach” at the Emirates Stadium.

Mertesacker, however, thanked Max for all his hard work and commitment for Arsenal so far.
