However, eagle-eyed supporters would have recognised this kit combo was not the usual attire for the north Londoners on their away days.
Fans on social media noticed the change, with one commenting: “Sorry. What do we have here? I don’t think I’ve ever seen Arsenal in this blue/silver/silver combo before.”
A second unimpressed viewer said: “Arsenal should be docked 12 points for their shirt, shorts, socks combo.”
Another said: “White shorts cause of the rules is too funny.”

SunSport understands the reason for the change is down to a simple kit clash between the two teams’ strips, with the change decided by Premier League chiefs.

A request from Premier League organisers saw them make a subtle change at the City Ground as their away socks swapped from black to white.
The request was made to avoid issues for fans watching with colour blindness, with the change in sock colour said to offer a clearer visual distinction for those supporters.
