The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has reiterated the Nigerian Army's dedication to combating the wave of insecurity affecting Niger State.

Shaibu made this statement during a visit to Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago in Minna, where he was welcomed at the Council Chamber of the Government House Minna by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba.

He announced intentions to allocate additional resources for the training and doctrine of the Nigerian Army's Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) to tackle the security challenges facing the state.

Regarding the purpose of his visit, Shaibu elaborated, “I am here to officially open the Training and Doctrine Command Conference for the year, which will coordinate all upcoming activities and enhance both training and doctrine.”

Furthermore, Shaibu stated that he plans to conduct operational visits to the Headquarters of the 31 Artillery Brigade and the 18 Brigade in Bida to evaluate operational shortcomings and address them accordingly.

The COAS expressed gratitude to the state government for its ongoing support of the TRADOC Nigerian Army and other formations in the state, adding, “The Nigerian Army anticipates further cooperation and collaboration with the state government.”
