A GANG stormed a pub last night leaving multiple people with facial injuries.

The group of thugs broke into the pub and began attacking customers “without reason”.

At around 10:30pm last night, Friday April 3, a group of around five people let loose on punters in the White Hart Hotel, Launceston.

A witness reported that “multiple people” suffered minor facial injuries in the attack after the group started on smokers stood outside “without reason or cause”.

According to Cornwall Live armed arrived alongside regular officers but the thugs had already left.

They had tried to enter through the back door and left it damaged after breaking in.

It was not the first time the group had visited the pub and staff fear it will not be the last.

The pub has had a problem with the same trouble-making gang for “several weeks”.

A pub employee said that the gang returned , Saturday, April 4, and there are fears they will return again this evening.

One staff member said: “At around 10pm we stopped them coming in,”

“One took out a belt and tried to hit people with it.”

Addressing the incident in a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said the “men had assaulted numerous people in the pub”, but had escaped by the time cops arrived.

The rest of the statement said: “We were called at 10.25pm on Friday, April 3 following a report of a group trying to gain entry to a licensed premises in Broad Street, Launceston, following an earlier altercation,

“It was reported the men had assaulted numerous people in the pub and damaged a door prior in the evening.

“Officers attended but the suspects had left.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
