MANCHESTER UNITED star Antony is so desperate to leave Old Trafford he has quit his mansion and is living in an airport hotel as he nears a £36million move to Real Betis.

The Brazilian winger has been told by manager Ruben Amorim he has no future at United despite enjoying a successful period on loan last season at Betis.

And SunSport can exclusively reveal that the Spaniards are in advanced talks over a new £3m loan for Antony , with the deal becoming permanent for £33m next summer.

The 25-year-old previously lived with his wife and family in a stunning home in Hale, Gtr Manchester, where Paul Pogba also once lived.

But the winger and his family are now holed up in the Marriott Hotel, less than five minutes from Manchester airport, with his £200,000 Porsche parked in the car park.

Rooms at the four-star hotel cost just £130 a night – small change for the £200,000-a-week Brazilian international.

Antony, who is training away from Amorim’s first team squad, is a regular visitor to the hotel’s spa, according to one guest.

Other guests have previously criticised the hotel on TripAdvisor for feeling “run-down” during their “disappointing stay” while others complained their rooms were not cleaned properly.

A source said: “Antony clearly wants to leave Old Trafford and has done everything he can to ensure if and when a call comes from another club, he’s ready to go. He could be on a plane in 30 minutes.”

Following his spell there last season, Antony is now nearing a return to Betis, who are closing in on a £36m total package deal.

He is set to rejoin them on loan, with Betis then expected to make the move permanent in 2026.

United always insisted on a full obligation clause in any deal, rejecting a straight loan earlier this summer.

Antony moved to United in 2022 in a £85m deal from Ajax but managed just 12 goals in 96 outings.

He has been desperate to return to Manuel Pellegrini’s side after bagging nine goals and five assists there.

Antony dreams of playing a key role for Brazil at next summer’s World Cup and is hoping for more success in Spain.

He will now become the first member of United’s new ‘Bomb Squad’ to be axed before deadline day, with Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia still waiting on transfers.
