THE family of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s sex abuse accuser Virginia Giuffre wrote an open letter to his high society pal and jailed madam Ghislaine Maxwell.
In it they accused her of helping to create “a sadistic system” where young girls were sexually exploited by the rich and powerful.

They wrote: “Ghislaine Maxwell, you were not a bystander.
“You were not ‘misled’. You were a central, deliberate actor in a system built to find children, isolate them, groom them, and deliver them to abuse.
“You used trust as a weapon. You targeted vulnerability and turned it into access.
“That is not a mistake. That is not poor judgment. That is predation.”
The letter, written by Virginia’s brother, Sky Roberts, and his wife, Amanda, was delivered to the US Congress’s Oversight Committee just hours before Maxwell was due to appear via videolink.
She was ordered to give evidence behind closed doors and under oath from the Texas prison where she is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking as part of the committee’s Jeffrey Epstein inquiry.
But her lawyer says she intends to invoke her right to remain silent under the Fifth Amendment of the US Constitution.
Maxwell’s lawyer David Oscar Markus said: “I can confirm that she will take the 5th.”
Instead, lawmakers in the US said Maxwell will read “a prepared statement at the outset of the deposition”.
The letter from Virginia’s family will also be entered into the record, but will not be read to Maxwell.
It begins: “Ghislaine Maxwell. First, it is not a privilege to address you.
“It is, however, an honor that this committee has granted us the opportunity to speak.”
It goes on: “Virginia was not a headline. She was a mother, a daughter, and a sister–brilliant, loving, and fiercely protective of the people she cared about.

“She fought for years to tell the truth, and she paid a price for that truth every day of her life.
“You were the person pulling the strings, making the abuse possible, and then making it repeat.
“The damage you caused did not end when the abuse ended.
“It followed Virginia into adulthood. It seeped into her sleep, her sense of safety, her relationships, and her ability to move through the world without fear.
“It forced her to carry memories no child should ever have, and to spend years defending her own reality just to be believed.
“You did not just harm Virginia. You helped create a template of exploitation that hurt so many girls.
“Girls who were children, who were powerless, and who deserved protection.”
They said their suffering was not incidental but her “reward” for the sadistic system she had helped create.
The family repeated Virginia’s words and branded Maxwell “a monster” – saying she was often “more vicious and cruel than Epstein”.
They added: “No sentence can restore what was taken.
“But this Committee and this hearing can say, clearly and permanently, that the lives of these girls mattered – and that the people who enabled their abuse will be held fully accountable.
“Forgiveness is neither owed, nor offered to you Ghislaine.
“We further urge Congress to continue its investigation into the extraordinary leniency that was extended to Ghislaine without the consent, consultation, or even the knowledge of survivors.
“Such actions undermine public trust and the pursuit of justice.”
They said the release of three million documents in the US had highlighted “significant inconsistencies” in her sworn testimony.
If she is found to have lied she should face further charges, they added.
Their letter ends: “Ghislaine Maxwell, we will not let what you did be minimized, softened, or rewritten.
“We’ll end this letter with Virginia’s last wishes for you:
“‘Ghislaine, you deserve to spend the rest of your life in a jail cell. Trapped in a cage forever just like you trapped your victims’.”
Virginia claimed she was trafficked to have sex with the disgraced Royal on three separate occasions – and twice when she was just 17.
Andrew, 65, vehemently denied the allegations but later paid her a reported £12million in an out-of-court settlement.
He was stripped of his royal roles in the wake of the scandal and banished from public life in disgrace.
He has since been evicted from Royal Lodge and forced into a farmhouse on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
Mum-of-three Virginia died by suicide last April at her remote home in Perth, Australia.
