And it has not taken long for him to rediscover his form after a dismal two years at Old Trafford.

Onana featured just once for ‘s side this season – the defeat against Grimsby – but he is beginning to show why United signed him in the first place.

In the 1-1 draw with Gaizentep on Saturday produced a wonderful assist, showcasing the skills he has with his feet that ;ed United to fork out £47million.

After a Gaizentep move broke down Onana dribbled the ball outside of the area and towards the touchline.

He took his time and remained composed before floating a long ball towards striker Paul Onuachu.

The ball landed in behind the defence so the opposition goalkeeper came out to deal with the danger.

But to Onana’s credit it dropped just short so Onuachu was able to get to it first before lobbing in to score.

Fans were impressed with Onana’s display with one saying: “United was the problem.”

Another added: “Everyone leaves Man Utd and then remembers how to play football.”

And a third wrote: “Does anyone else think Manchester United are cursed.”
