AMY HUNT led Great Britain to the 4x100m gold and collected her third medal of the European Championships.

The foursome won with a time of 42:05, the fastest time in Europe this year.

The 24-year-old won the gold medals in the 100m and 200m sprints and needed the 4x100m relay to complete a historic set at the European Championships.

She ran the second leg for Team GB. It’s an interesting choice to not use the gold medallist on the final leg, but it proved an inspired choice.

The Newark-born star has silver medals at the Olympics and the World Championships and also collected a silver in the 100m at the Commonwealth Games last month.

She was also a part of the British relay team that won gold in Rome two years ago.

But the European Championships has been her real coming out party and Hunt has truly announced herself as one of Great Britain’s great athletics hopes moving forward.
