FORMER Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim wants to build AC Milan’s defence around a Liverpool superstar.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the ex-Sporting Lisbon boss has identified captain Virgil van Dijk as the ideal transfer to lead his defence.

Amorim has been busy this summer as have already signed Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Ramos.
Van Dijk recently returned from duty after the Netherlands’ early elimination.
The ex-Southampton star saw his national team on Tuesday in the Last 32.
Holland lost 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Morocco at the Monterrey Stadium in Mexico.
