Joshua acknowledges that he is anticipated to easily defeat Paul, earn a substantial sum, and become an overnight hero by knocking out the outspoken American.
However, an unexpected loss would undoubtedly be the biggest upset in boxing history.
While the British boxing legend believes he has the right to pursue the lucrative Miami match, a defeat could jeopardize his career and reputation.
Khan, 39, told SunSport: “He’s a prize fighter, and he has proven himself. What more does he need to demonstrate?
“He’s the one who has fought everyone in his boxing career, and you can never speak poorly of a champion like him. If he gets these easier opportunities, he should seize them.
“Why not? He has faced the opponents he needed to, and he has either won or lost against them.
“The reality is, he’s never turned down a challenge, and if the chance arises for £70 million to fight Jake Paul, who would decline that?
“So, big respect to him. I believe there’s more pressure on him in this fight than there would be in a world title match.”
“Because if, God forbid, he gets beaten or caught by Jake Paul or gets hurt, it would be catastrophic for him.”
Joshua, 36, has yet to return since his shocking knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, 28, in September 2024.
Paul, 28, on the other hand, defeated former middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., 39, in his last fight at cruiserweight in June.
The upcoming match with AJ is a professionally sanctioned heavyweight fight scheduled for eight rounds, with Paul regularly competing at the 14st 4lb cruiserweight limit of 200lb.
An unbelievable victory for Paul would surpass James ‘Buster’ Douglas’ knockout of Mike Tyson in 1990, which is still regarded as boxing’s greatest upset.
Khan added: “This is boxing, and anything can happen in the ring.
“You’ve seen instances in boxing where fighters have been hit with surprising shots or injured, and the sport is very dangerous.
“The sport is no one's ally, and a mistake can have severe consequences. If AJ makes an error here, it’s one he may never recover from.”
