OWNERS of Amazon’s latest Fire TV Stick will miss a significant update that is being rolled out to millions in February.
Earlier this week, Amazon showcased its latest design and features for its Fire TV devices.

This update features a more modern look, simplifies the process of finding shows, and allows you to pin even more items to your home screen.
Additionally, it provides a performance enhancement with speed improvements of up to 20-30%.
Unfortunately, Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick will not receive the update in February but is expected to get it later in the year.
This is surprising given that the 4K Select is the latest Fire TV Stick, having launched in October 2025.
The only devices receiving the update in February include:
- Fire TV Stick 4K Plus
- (2nd gen)
- Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series
Importantly, only these devices in the US will receive the February update.
Amazon stated: “Later this spring, we’ll expand the new UI design to more countries and additional devices.
“This includes the latest generation Fire TV 4K streaming media players.”
The update will also be available later for Fire TV models like the 2-Series, 4-Series, and Omni QLED Series.
Furthermore, it will be introduced later for TVs produced by partners such as Hisense, Insignia, Panasonic, and TCL.
The new Amazon Ember Artline TV will launch with this updated interface, although it won’t be available until “later this spring.”
WHAT’S NEW IN THE UPDATE?
The most noticeable change is the overall interface redesign.
Amazon claims it will make it simpler to find something to watch, aiming to reduce the time spent searching for shows.
The updated interface is designed to facilitate content discovery
“We designed the new Fire TV experience to help reduce that time,” Amazon explained.
“Now it’s quicker and easier to find movies, TV shows, sports, news, and live content across all your subscriptions.”
One significant change is the ability to view titles from all the apps you use in one location, which is helpful when searching for a specific movie.
Additionally, there’s a refreshed and more contemporary design featuring “enhanced layouts, rounded corners, redesigned color gradients, updated typography, and better spacing.”

The underlying code for the system has also been optimized.
Amazon states that users may notice speed improvements of up to 20-30%, which is beneficial if your device has been feeling sluggish.
Moreover, you can now pin up to 20 apps to your home screen, an increase from the previous limit of six.
You can press the Menu button for quick access to Games, Art & Photos, and the Ambient Experience (the screensaver-style feature that displays art, pictures, and widgets).

The system also includes Amazon’s intelligent assistant, which can recommend specific types of movies or actors, add titles to your watchlist, or provide statistics from a sports game you’re watching. It can even create custom background screensavers.
This update will be provided at no cost for existing Fire TV device owners.
Amazon also announced that it will enhance its Fire TV mobile app.
The free mobile app currently serves as a secondary remote control, but it’s set to receive several upgrades.
