New Real Madrid manager, Xabi Alonso has decided on the formation he will play at the club.

The Spaniard was recently appointed as Real Madrid’s new manager.

The 43-year-old replaced Carlo Ancelotti, who has already taken the coaching job of the Brazil national team.

Alonso largely utilised a 3-4-2-1 formation during his time as manager of Bayer Leverkusen.

However, according to Marca, Alonso has decided he will not play three centre-backs at Real Madrid.

The report added that the Liverpool legend will play a classic 4-3-3 formation at the Los Blancos as he believes it fits the current squad better.

Meanwhile, Alonso is preparing to lead his squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup taking place later this month.

His first game will be against Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal at the Hard Rock Stadium on June 18.
