Mr. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Abia State, has initiated a lawsuit against Mr. Chinonye Mba, a member of the opposition, for allegedly defaming him through a post on Facebook.

In the lawsuit submitted to Justice K.C.J. Okereke of the Abia State High Court, Ohafia Division, located in Abiriba, the Chief Press Secretary is seeking N500 million in damages from Chinonye Mba.

According to case No. HOH/90/2025, the lawsuit stems from a Facebook post allegedly made by the defendant on October 26, 2025, titled:

“How Governor Alex Otti’s CPS Plotted to Have Me Incarcerated.”

The claimant asserts that the post was shared on the defendant’s Facebook page and disseminated to his friends, followers, and the broader public.

The claimant maintains that the content of the publication was false, malicious, defamatory, and capable of damaging his character, reputation, and public standing.

In addition to the N500 million in damages, the Chief Press Secretary is also requesting the Court to issue a perpetual injunction preventing the defendant from further publishing or distributing the alleged defamatory statements, among other requests.

Meanwhile, the defendant, Chinonye Mba, who is currently outside Abia State, recently updated his Facebook page with a post stating:
