The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has refuted allegations of his arrest related to an alleged coup plot.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ogbuku clarified that he is currently participating in a Commission meeting with Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, and Directors in Port Harcourt, which is being broadcast live on Arise TV. Previously, DAILY POST reported that an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Yekini Nabena, had dismissed the rumors of the alleged arrest.

“We woke up yesterday to see some fabricated social media reports claiming that Dr. Sam Ogbuku was arrested. We questioned, for what reason? The ongoing agricultural summit in Port Harcourt featured the managing director speaking live this morning, which was broadcasted on two national television channels. We hope this will discredit the spreaders of false information,” Nabena stated.
“We urge the public to ignore the fake news and recognize it for what it is: false,” he added.
On Wednesday, former Bayelsa State governor and former Nigerian minister Timipre Sylva confirmed that his residence in Abuja had been raided.
