Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh has named Ademola Lookman as Nigeria’s most important player amid the ongoing AFCON tournament in Morocco.

In a recent episode of the Global Football Insights podcast, Oliseh pointed out Lookman’s forward-focused approach to the game.

The former Juventus midfielder insisted that the 28-year-old really never passes the ball backwards.

“The player I think has been Nigeria’s most important player has been Lookman,” Oliseh said.

“Lookman almost never passes one ball backward. He was playing forwards, and that made the difference for Nigeria.”

Lookman has indeed made his mark in the tournament so far, netting three goals and providing four assists for Eric Chelle’s side.

The Atalanta forward will aim to spearhead Nigeria’s charge toward victory against Morocco on Wednesday.
