Maduka Okoye will be released by Udinese for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following their Serie A match against champions Napoli on Saturday, according to DAILY POST.

Okoye was initially expected to join his international teammates in camp on Monday (today).

However, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) has ruled that clubs may retain players until December 15.

Udinese's head coach Kosta Runjaic confirmed that the goalkeeper will depart for international duty after Napoli’s visit to the Bluenergy Stadium this weekend.

“We’re considering this matter. After Napoli, we will likely no longer have Rui Modesto, Okoye, Bayo, and Zemura, but we’ve been aware of this for some time,” Runjaic stated on the club’s official website.

The 25-year-old will be making his second appearance at the AFCON in Morocco.

He served as the Super Eagles' first-choice goalkeeper during the AFCON 2021 finals in Cameroon.
