Former Ivory Coast international Salomon Kalou is cheering for the Super Eagles to triumph in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Super Eagles finished as runners-up in the last edition of the tournament, losing 2-1 to the host nation, Côte d'Ivoire, in the final.
Éric Chelle’s squad will be aiming to advance further this time around.
Kalou is confident that the Super Eagles possess the talent needed to secure the title in Morocco.
“Nigeria appears very strong this year. With Victor Osimhen spearheading the attack, they have one of the most feared strikers in global football,” Kalou expressed in his weekly blog on Tribuna.
“Combining the speed and creativity of Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze, along with Wilfred Ndidi’s reliability in midfield, you can see a team that is both balanced and deep.”
Nigeria remains one of the most successful nations in the tournament's history, boasting three titles, five second-place finishes, and eight bronze medals.
The West Africans will compete against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda in Group C.
They will kick off their pursuit of a fourth title against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania next Tuesday.
