The three teams that Nigeria may encounter in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have been disclosed.

The Super Eagles secured their spot in the knockout stages by finishing at the top of Group C, following wins against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.
Eric Chelle’s squad could now meet Cameroon, Mozambique, or Ivory Coast for a chance to advance to the quarter-finals.

This information was shared by the team's former press officer, Colin Udoh, through his X account.

Udoh stated: “Nigeria will compete against the best third-placed team from Group F. Currently, that could be either Ivory Coast, Cameroon, or Mozambique.

“Gabon is unlikely to defeat Ivory Coast, which eliminates the Elephants, even if the match ends in a draw.

“However, Mozambique could potentially achieve the unexpected and defeat Cameroon. This scenario would mean Nigeria faces Cameroon, just like in 2019.”
