The Adamawa State Government has declared a temporary closure of a prominent road junction in Yola for a crossover concert.
The event is set to take place on the night of Wednesday, December 31, 2025, and will continue into the early hours of Thursday, January 1, 2026.
In a public notice released on Sunday, the government announced that the Unity Flyover in Jimeta will be closed starting Monday, December 29, 2025, until the morning of January 1, 2026. This closure aims to facilitate the preparations and execution of the concert without interruptions.
The Unity Flyover & Bridge in Jimeta is a well-known road junction that accommodates traffic from four different areas of the capital city, making it one of the busiest intersections in the area.
Since the tenure of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, the state government has organized annual musical concerts to celebrate the end of the year and the arrival of the New Year.
The state Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku, who also chairs the 2025 Crossover Committee, stated in a notice he issued on Sunday afternoon that the Unity Flyover Bridge will be temporarily closed in preparation for the 2025 Crossover festivities.
“The closure will begin on Monday, December 29, and will remain in effect until Wednesday, January 1,” he noted, encouraging motorists and commuters to utilize alternative routes during this period.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and appreciate the public's understanding and cooperation,” Adamu Atiku added.
Prominent local and national music artists are anticipated to perform at the Unity Concert, which Governor Fintiri is also expected to attend.
