The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kano State Chapter, has, following the recent fire outbreak at Singer Market, expressed concern and solidarity with the State Government and the affected traders.

Dr Goni Faruk Umar, chairman of the forum, in a statement issued by its publicity secretary, Nasiru Yusuf Ibrahim, expressed shock at the magnitude of the destruction of property in the market, describing the situation as most unfortunate.

The ACF sympathised with traders who lost property worth billions of naira in the present inferno and the previous one, which occurred on February 2.

Umar thanked the Kano State Fire Service, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other first responders for their swift response and efforts in containing the fire and preventing further damage.

According to the statement, “The Federal and Kano State governments should develop and implement strategic interventions aimed at preventing future occurrences of such devastating incidents.”

The statement reaffirmed the forum’s solidarity with the affected traders and called on the authorities to consider measures that would enhance safety standards and emergency preparedness in major markets across the state.
