The Commissioner of Police for Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has warned officers in his command against sharing images of crime suspects on social media and getting involved in civil matters.

He further cautioned them against unprofessional behavior, extortion, inappropriate attire while on duty, unnecessary detention of suspects in non-felonious cases, and inadequate documentation of complaints and reports.

The CP delivered these remarks on Monday during a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Team Commanders, and Department Heads of the Command. He emphasized the importance of avoiding unauthorized transfers of officers on one-year attachments, misconduct, and acts of impunity.

He instructed that there should be no loss of personnel or arms and underscored that preliminary investigations into cases reported by the community must be properly conducted before transferring such cases to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

CP Danladi encouraged officers to lead by example, stating that genuine leadership is reflected in one’s conduct. He urged them to continuously develop and enhance their professional skills to provide the best service possible.

He also reminded officers to prepare early for retirement and to maintain their health.

Additionally, he reiterated that the enforcement of tinted glass permits will begin on October 2, 2025, and warned officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ensuring that motorists are neither extorted nor exploited.

The meeting focused on the recent directive issued by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
