The First Lady also announced that the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory will receive N50 million to be allocated to beneficiaries within their areas.

Mrs. Tinubu shared this information in a speech she delivered on Wednesday during the launch of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Economic Empowerment Programme for Persons with Disabilities, which is part of the RHI Social Investment Programme.

While delivering her message virtually, the Nigerian First Lady emphasized the importance of the empowerment program as it coincided with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

“In total, nine thousand five hundred individuals with disabilities across Nigeria will benefit from this program, amounting to One Billion, Nine Hundred Million Naira (N1,900,000,000).”

“This program aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which aims to promote inclusive growth and shared prosperity by ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind, particularly those whose needs are often overlooked,” she stated.

Mrs. Tinubu commended the efforts of Abia State Governor Alex Otti and his wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, for their support of the Renewed Hope initiative’s empowerment programs in Abia. She noted that the initiative has provided financial and material assistance to victims of flooding and other disasters, as well as those affected by communal clashes.
