Abia State Harmonized Task Force, ASHTF Aba Zone, has sealed a supermarket following an attack on its personnel.
The Task Force personnel was attacked and beaten to stupor by a group of young men allegedly recruited by the owner of the sealed supermarket.
A statement issued by the media officer of ASHTF, Miracle Chukwunenye, said members of the task force were lawfully trying to impound a vehicle parked in front of the sealed supermarket as it obstructed the traffic.
According to him, the supermarket owner immediately incited the young men who descended on the ASHTF official.
“In response, ASHTF has sealed the supermarket pending a full investigation and has demanded that the owner present himself to account for his actions,”;; the statement said.
He warned that further attacks on men of the task force will be met with the full weight of the law.
Meanwhile, the owner of the sealed supermarket, who is currently at large, is not yet available to react to the allegations.
