William Troost-Ekong states that the Super Eagles had to put in considerable effort to secure their victory against Lesotho, as reported by DAILY POST.

Eric Chelle’s team lost to their opponents 2-1 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday.

“The match was challenging. I believe the coach can explain it better; the pressure has been mounting on us since March, perhaps since the beginning of the qualifiers.”

The Super Eagles will now focus on their upcoming match against the Benin Republic next Tuesday.

“We just have to concentrate on ourselves. We are always striving to improve. We have a team of players who are eager to achieve more. We possess a winning mentality and are determined to reach the World Cup,” Troost-Ekong added.

“The past nine months have been challenging. Now we have the opportunity with the game in Uyo against the Benin Republic. We know we need to score a specific number of goals. We must win the game decisively.

“This will be another significant test, and we will be prepared. We have been training under pressure for quite some time. This is a final for us, and we will work diligently to succeed. As the coach mentioned, I am proud of the team, and we will continue to believe until the very end.”
