Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has said his team will now head into their next game against South Africa with confidence after the win over Rwanda.

Eric Chelle’s side revived their chances of securing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Amavubi.

The West Africans got their goal through Wolverhampton Wanderers’ new signing, Tolu Arokodare, in the second half.

The Super Eagles moved to third position in Group C following the win.

Nigeria will now shift attention to another crucial game against Bafana Bafana of South Africa, slated for next Tuesday at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Troost-Ekong declared that the players will go all out for maximum points against Hugo Broos’ men.

“This win versus Rwanda will give us a lot of confidence going into the game against South Africa,” the centre-back told reporters after the game.

“I said it before the game against Rwanda that we will keep pushing until the last day. We will fight to beat the South Africans.”
