The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi is eligible to play for the Super Eagles in the final playoff match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This announcement was made on the official X account of the Super Eagles on Saturday.

“CAF has confirmed that Wilfred Ndidi is eligible to participate in Sunday’s playoff match against DR Congo,” the message states.

“Cautions received during the World Cup qualifiers do not carry over into the playoffs; only confirmed suspensions are applicable.”

Ndidi received a caution in the sixth minute of the Super Eagles’ 4-1 victory over the Panthers of Gabon on Thursday.

This was the midfielder’s second booking during the qualifiers.
