2025 U-20 AFCON: Zubairu reveals Flying Eagles’ new target after World Cup qualification

Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu has said his team has their sight on the ultimate prize at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations after qualifying for the World Cup.

Nigeria will do battle with the Amajita of South Africa in a semi-final fixture at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia on Thursday.

Zubairu said they will do their best to win the trophy for a record extending eighth time.

“We will do everything to bring the trophy back home,”;; Zubairu said ahead of the game.

“We’re going fully for the trophy after we secured our place at the World Cup.”;;

The gaffer also claimed he has a deep knowledge of the South African team.

“I was at the stadium and watched South Africa against DR Congo,”;; he added.

“We therefore have a good idea of how they play.”;;
