2025 U-20 AFCON: Chelle hits Egypt to support Flying Eagles

Published on May 05, 2025 at 11:13 AM

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is expected in Cairo, Egypt, to support the Flying Eagles at the ongoing 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Flying Eagles media officer, Shariff Abdallah, told DAILY POST that Chelle will arrive at the team’s Radisson Blu Hotel base on Monday (today).

Chelle will also run the rule over the Flying Eagles players before submitting his list for this month’s Unity Cup invitational tournament in London.

The Flying Eagles have won one and drawn one of their opening two fixtures at the 2025 U-20 AFCON finals in Egypt.

Aliyu Zubairu’s side will take on the Rising Stars of Kenya in their final group game at the June 30 Stadium, Cairo, on Wednesday.

A draw will be enough for the seven-time champions to seal a place in the quarter-finals.
