The Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah has said that the $125 million financing facility secured by Governor Alex Otti from the Islamic Development Bank for the Abia State Integrated Infrastructure Development Project will skyrocket development in the state.

He also said that it will critically help in tackling the erosion menace destroying houses, lands and economic trees in some communities.

Eze Mbah stated this while reacting to the approval of the $125 million financing facility by President Bola Tinubu.

He thanked President Tinubu for approving the facility, saying that it would support the construction of approximately 126 kilometres of road network in Aba and 35.57 kilometres in Umuahia, and bring respite to some communities suffering from erosion menace.

He also expressed the hope that the infrastructural development projects of the Governor would reduce travel time in Abia roads, create jobs for the people and help in recovery of some portions of lands lost to erosion.

Eze Mbah commended Governor Otti for his achievements so far and said that his administration had earned the trust of leading international development institutions, which he said made it possible for the loan to be secured.

He further said that over 3,000 jobs projected to be created from the $125 million during contract executions, would help in further addressing unemployment problems.
