The quiz show has been a huge success since it first launched in 2022.
The 1% Club’s festive 80% picture question knocked out over a quarter of players leaving Lee Mack shocked
Contestants had to work out what item doesn’t appear in both images
28 people were caught out by the question
It has gone on to feature a number of specials, including the recent Rollover Week, a Soccer Aid special and of course – Christmas episodes.
In this festive edition of the show, host Lee was left gobsmacked after almost a quarter of players went out the competition in the early stages.
The 80% question was: “What is the only item which does NOT appear in both images?”
The contestants were then shown two images side by side of santa, a snowman, a reindeer sitting at a dinner table with a log fire behind them and snow falling outside the window.
After 30 seconds, the contestants had to lock in their answer, before Lee revealed how many had got it wrong.
As 28 appeared on the floor of the studio, a visibly surprised Lee said: “Wow. We’ve lost 28 on that one, let’s have a look at the answer.”
The screen then revealed the correct answer was that Santa’s legs were missing on the image on the right.
Lee then asked players what went wrong, and one replied that he “couldn’t see anything wrong with it.”
The result meant the prize pot was boosted to £29,000 at a very early stage in the episode.
It isn’t the first time Lee has been in the earlier stages of an episode.
Lee asked the contestants: “How many of these dancers have their left leg in the air?”
Meanwhile, the screen featured a grid showing eight images of ballet dancers.
After time was up, Lee was gobsmacked to discover a whopping 22 people had been knocked out.
He quipped: “Wow, that is a massacre. We’ve lost 22 people.
The correct answer was Santa’s legs
“Were you lot listening when I said you had a pass?”
Ultimately, the right answer was four dancers – with Lee later pointing out the pictures.
Lee was previously surprised to see 22 people go out on this 50% question
The 1% Club airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
