Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has expressed his appreciation to the citizens of the state following his re-election.
Speaking on Sunday after being declared the winner of the governorship election, securing a second term alongside his deputy, Onyeka Ibezim, the governor remarked that this renewed mandate represents both a victory and a significant milestone for the state.
According to the governor, who also addressed his supporters, the people have sent a powerful message of confidence in his administration.
He reminisced that in 2021, his initial victory occurred amidst low voter turnout, highlighting that the recent election witnessed a notable increase in citizen participation.
“Four years ago, you voiced your choice and granted us your mandate. Anambra utilized BVAS for the first time, and the turnout was remarkably low. You elected us with 112,000 votes.
“This time, your voices have been heard loud and clear. In terms of the percentage of registered voters who participated, approximately 22 percent voted in this election. This is unprecedented. You have shattered the 20 percent barrier,” he stated.
He assured the people of Anambra that his administration will enhance efforts to deliver development throughout the state.
“We applied for this position. You hired us four years ago. What I can affirm, as we mentioned throughout the campaign, is that you have yet to see the best of us. As the Americans would say, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet.’ I want to emphasize that with your trust and in partnership with you… over the next four years, we can confidently say that we ain’t seen nothing yet,” the governor concluded.
