Meliz Kirik, a who loves to cook and eat, recently took to to share her beef dripping Yorkshire pudding recipe – and they’re sure to make the perfect side alongside your turkey and roast potatoes.

The often shares simple but delicious online, but her Yorkshire puddings left her with “no words” because they tasted so “delightful.”

Showing off her easy to make Yorkshires, Meliz said: “These are my favourite and I’m going to show you how to make these, and also how you can freeze these for – it’s just one less thing to faff about with.

“Yorkshire puddings are my favourite – if I could choose just one side for , it would be Yorkshire puddings.

“I find it’s easier to make my Yorkshire pudding batter in a pouring jug but if you don’t have a pouring jug, that’s fine, you can use a bowl and you could just use [a ladle] – just make use of whatever you have at home.”

To make her Yorkshires, Meliz mixed eight eggs, 400ml of whole milk, 280g of plain flour and a pinch of salt until smooth.

She added: “If you find that you get lumps in your Yorkshire pudding batter, you could just run it through a sieve for a smoother batter.”

As well as this, the foodie shared the very important step that many people forget – which is why your homemade Yorkshire puddings often have doughy bottoms.

Meliz acknowledged: “A really crucial step when making Yorkshire puddings is allowing your batter to rest in the fridge for a minimum of one hour, overnight for better results.

“Reason being is because when you combine milk, eggs and flour together, some parts hydrate immediately, all parts don’t, so allowing the batter to hydrate and give it a bit more time will result in a smoother, more cohesive batter.

“So what that means is avoiding getting that dense, doughy bottom at the bottom of your .

“Second reason is because gluten is the stretchy protein in your flour – when you allow your gluten to relax, when you cook your Yorkshire puddings, it just allows it to be fluffier and have a lighter texture.

“Third reason why it’s important to rest your batter – you’re allowing little bubbles to distribute and stabilise, so when this goes into the oven after it’s rested, it will expand and give a rise, so it will give a bigger rise after it’s rested.”

Then on Christmas Day, I’ll put them in the oven for six to eight minutes at 200 degrees

Following this, Meliz added a tablespoon of into each circle on her baking tray and preheated her oven at 220 degrees.

Then, she explained: “I put the tray in for around eight minutes until the beef dripping had completely melted and was really hot.”

Once melted, she then added her batter and placed the tray in the oven, as she continued: “It’s so tempting to open the oven to check on your Yorkshire puddings, but it’s so important that you leave it in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes until it is completely done.

“If you open the oven and they haven’t finished , it’s going to completely destroy the shape of your Yorkshire puddings and they will deflate, so patience is key.”

Showing off her delicious Yorkshires, the brunette beamed: “It’s crispy, it’s fluffy, it’s so light and airy on the inside.”

With Meliz’s , she was able to make 16 small Yorkshire puddings and six large ones.
