The Yobe State Hisbah Commission has issued a warning regarding private conversations under the guise of chatting between men and women, particularly in ways that are not in accordance with Sharia law.

Hisbah stated that such activities are considered contrary to Sharia law, especially during festive occasions.

This information was shared in a statement on Wednesday by the office of the State Commander of the Hisbah Commission, Dr. Muhammad Yawudi Kale.

According to the statement, the directive has received the endorsement of the Chairman of the Yobe State Hisbah Commission, Dr. Yahuza Hamza Abubakar.

The Commission outlined several behaviors that residents must refrain from engaging in.

These include “reckless driving or operating vehicles, particularly in public during weddings or Sallah celebrations,” and “physical interactions between men and women in vehicles, especially on Keke Napep, motorcycles, or at public gatherings.”

The Hisbah Commission urged parents and the broader community to assist in enforcing these regulations, stressing that the aim is “to uphold the moral upbringing of our children.”
