THE White House has hit back at backlash over a meme shared by Donald Trump depicting the Obamas as gorillas.

The roughly one-minute video showed AI-generated images of former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama while the song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” played in the background.

Praying it was fake because it’s the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House. The President should remove it. https://t.co/gADoM13ssZ

The meme focused on claims that the Democrats rigged the 2020 presidential election.

Press Secretary said: “This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from ‘The Lion King’.”

“Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public.”

African-American Republican Senator Tim Scott took to X to share his outrage, writing: “Praying it [the post] was fake because it’s the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House.

“The President should remove it.”

New York Representative Mike Lawler, also a Republican, condemned the post as well.

“The President’s post is wrong and incredibly offensive — whether intentional or a mistake — and should be deleted immediately with an apology offered,” Lawler wrote on X.

It is not the first time Trump has posted controversial AI-generated videos on Truth Social.

Last year, the president posted an apparent AI video depicting Barack Obama being arrested in the Oval Office.

In October, the US President shared a wild AI video on No Kings protesters.

After spending the day on the green as his buddies downplayed the millions of Americans marching against his administration, the president all but flipped the bird to his critics with an AI-generated video.

Trump posted the clip to his social media platform Truth Social, showing himself in the pilot’s seat of a fighter jet labelled “King Trump”.

Flying the plane solo, he is seen with a massive crown on his head.

As the video continues, the jet begins to offload brown clumps of liquid, dumping the poo-like substance onto a crowd of protestors in an AI-generated city resembling Times Square.

Believed to be depictions of the No Kings protesters, the people are doused in a vile looking liquid before the video ends.

In the background, Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” plays, referencing the Top Gun movies.

Last month, Trump shared a showing him and Cristiano Ronaldo booting a football around the Oval Office.

The short clip shows the pair dribbling between sofas and firing shots off the Resolute Desk.

The AI render shows Ronaldo in a suit and Trump in his trademark navy blazer, both moving with impossibly slick footwork before celebrating with over-the-top slow motion fist pumps.

Trump added a short message: “Ronaldo is a GREAT GUY.

“Loved meeting him at the White House. Really smart, and cool!!! President DJT”.
