A BONKERS conspiracy theory has completely overshadowed Vicky Pattison’s Strictly Come Dancing stint – and I’m fuming about it.
The Geordie reality TV legend night but the off-camera drama surrounding her exit is ridiculous – so I’m going to set the record straight.

is a brilliant woman who I’ve met many times but we’re at the stage of the dance show now when popular celebs will have to start leaving. It is a competition after all.
So I’m not disgruntled that Vicky has got the boot – I’m raging about the web of lies surrounding her departure.
Thanks to the , every Saturday night the name of the axed star is posted on social media for all to see.
This is made possible because the record the Sunday results show straight after filming for the Saturday episode wraps.
But this year a second mole has entered the frame, a TikTok personality called Shirleigh Humphreys, who posts her “live reaction” to the eviction each Saturday.
It’s raised the stakes and now every web warrior with an iPhone and a dream of viral success has joined the race.
Internet fame is the prize and poor old Vicky became this week’s prey.
Because it wasn’t just her leaving that leaked online, fans also spread the rumour that she crashed out the dance-off because she fell down the stairs at the start of her dance.
And when one person read that, the news spread like wildfire.
So much so, online sites – not this one, obviously – reported it as fact.
Tweets online read: “Just hearing apparently Vicky had a fall in the dance off and that’s why she left. DEVASTATED IF TRUE. Bless her!!! The day before her Birthday as well.”
Another: “Live saying vicky fell?? Guys if that’s how she went out that’s actually even more devastating what the f**k”.
When I logged on for work on Sunday morning, even I called the BBC and Vicky’s rep to confirm the fact, because it was believed to be genuine.
And that’s all because the “Strictly Spoiler” mole has set a precedent that any kind of update about the leaver is reliable.
Vicky’s team quickly set me straight, but they were unable to spread the truth publicly because the result is “embargoed” until it is seen on TV.
That meant for some 24 hours the mad conspiracy theory raged on that Vicky had stumbled head first down the stairs before performing her Jive with .

This is wildly unfair on fans, who were fraught for Vicky and gutted her dream had ended in such a shocking way.
But it was also horrific for the ex-Geordie Shore star herself, who had grafted bloody hard as one of the few un-trained dancers in this year’s pack.
She was riding high from having topped the leaderboard last week but struggled with the Jive and knew it might put her at risk.
So for her exit to be shrouded in an untruth, suggesting something as embarrassing as the fact she couldn’t stay steady on her feet, doubled down on the disappointment.
And I know who is to blame in all this – and I can’t say it’s the mole themselves. It’s the BBC.
Audience members are banned from having mobiles in the ballroom at Elstree Studios where the results episode is recorded after the main dances every Saturday.
But the celebrities, their family and friends, pro dancers and production crew are allowed to keep their phones.
This weekend for the first time ever, the result was leaked DURING filming.
Far from getting a grip on the mole, it feels like the BBC is losing control entirely.
A source said: “Spoilers have plagued Strictly for years with fans struggling to avoid finding out who leaves before the Sunday results show airs.
“Now, results are ending up online while the cameras are still rolling. It means there is a whodunnit mystery gripping the set. Bosses are actively looking to catch these moles in the act.”
As well as being posted on a site by the self-styled Strictly Spoiler, superfan Shirleigh, from Rochester, Kent, streams her live reaction to finding out which celeb is kicked out from about 10.30pm every Saturday.
On TikTok, she admitted: “I have my own moles and this particular mole was fantastic for giving us live coverage of the Strictly Results while it was taping.”
After The Sun approached her for comment, she admitted on a TikTok video it was “inevitable Strictly bosses weren’t going to be happy a spoiler is coming out as the results show is taping”.

A Strictly source: “The results have been leaking online for well over a decade now – whether via fan forum, blog or TikTok, very little has changed and the Strictly team concentrate on making the results show as fabulous for its millions of viewers as possible.”
The mad situation also left viewers confused during Sunday’s episode when no fall indeed appeared on screen – suddenly adding another layer of accusations to the melting pot that the BBC had “covered it up”.
So is “making the results show fabulous” really enough when devastating lies are now being spread?
We are meant to be able to trust the BBC.
In the same month that the director general and CEO of news have , perhaps it will be the raised stakes from the Strictly mole that finally brings about cha-cha-change.
