- Judge's Ruling
Biafra nation advocate Nnamdi Kanu has contested the decision of the Federal High Court in Abuja to issue a ruling today regarding the terrorism charges filed against him by the Federal Government.
His primary concern was that he had submitted three motions and engaged with the prosecution on the issues at hand.
Even before the case was called, upon the arrival of Justice James Omotosho in the courtroom, Kanu stood up exclaiming, “No judgment today. This court cannot deliver any judgment on this matter.”
Justice Omotosho, however, calmed him and urged him to maintain decorum, explaining that the case must be called and appearances recorded before any arguments could be considered.
After the appearances were made, Kanu contended that the charge against him was invalid and not recognized by law.
He also requested permission to submit his final written address and asked to be granted bail until all the matters he raised were resolved.
Kanu asserted that he had filed motions and engaged with the prosecution on the issues.
The judge, however, dismissed his requests.
