Content creator Kiki (@ kikicooksfood ) recently took to TikTok where she revealed how you can whip up delicious chocolate and peanut butter bars – and not only are they lower in calories but also packed with protein and healthy fats.
“My is to stop buying snacks out, so I decided to make my own peanut butter-chocolate bars – 160 calories each, five ingredients, super simple and just easy to make,” she said in the video .
For the recipe you will need: 80g rolled oats, 50g almond flour, 45ml maple syrup and one egg for the base.
For the scrumptious middle you’ll need 60g , as well as 30ml maple syrup, and 80 of sea salt chocolate, melted.
In total, this will be enough to make ten bars – which have 17g of carbs, 9g of fat and 5g of to keep you fuller for longer.
Star by mixing the base together and once ready, chuck the mixture inside an oven-safe dish and bake for ten minutes at 180C.
Next, it’s time to make the peanut butter-caramel layer – simply mix the peanut butter with maple syrup in a pot and stir until combined.
The final step for before putting it all together is melting the chocolate for that sweet and crunchy top layer.
”That is literally it – you’re gonna assemble your peanut butter bars, put them in the fridge, ideally overnight.
“That’s it – super simple, easy.”
At just 160 calories each, this is an ideal snack for health enthusiasts and anyone looking to – whilst also being a cheaper alternative to store-bought bars.
According to Kiki, you could also freeze these for a “super yummy” treat.
Posted earlier this year, the delicious recipe has racked up an astronomical 1.2million views, with dozens racing to comments.
One fellow foodie said: “I’d demolish the whole thing in one go, looks divine.”
“My problem is I’d eat all the bars in one sitting,” another chimed in.
“I need to make these,” someone else couldn’t wait to give the bars a go.
“I’ve made a version with a flaxseed egg. Fingers crossed. They are in the fridge now,” a viewer commented.
What are the biggest kitchen trends of 2025?
The kitchen is the heart of every home and this year it’s taking centre stage, Tracy Coleman, Product Director at High Street TV told Fabulous.
Hardworking appliances
Space-saving essentials are needed in every room of the house, and the kitchen is no exception, meaning appliances are often doing double (or triple) the job.
Expect to see air fryer ovens that roast, bake, and fry or blenders with attachments for everything from chopping to grinding.
Health and wellness
With people becoming more mindful of what they eat and how it impacts their well-being, kitchen appliances are stepping up to
meet the demand for healthier, more balanced lifestyles.
Air fryers remain hugely popular, along with blenders and juicers that retain nutrients.
Energy-bill conscious
Finally, with rising energy bills and an increased focus on sustainability, people are turning to appliances that help reduce power consumption and keep costs down.
More people are finding joy in cooking at home as a cost-effective
way to enjoy delicious, nutritious meals. Cooking at home doesn’t just save money—it’s also a fun way to bring the family together or experiment with new recipes.
With the right tools, such as multi-functional appliances and smart kitchen gadgets, creating meals at home becomes easier, faster, and more satisfying.
