A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has issued a strong warning to individuals or groups against claiming to be leaders of the party within the state.
The factional chairman, Abdulrazak Abubakar, delivered this warning at a press conference held on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
Abubakar mentioned that it had come to the faction's attention that one Sufiyanu Bala and others, who were previously suspended by the party, have continued to represent themselves as executives of the ADC.
The factional chairman further explained that one Alhaji Sule Iko was also suspended for falsely claiming to be the party chairman on behalf of Sufiyanu.
Abdulrazak stated that neither Sufiyanu Bala nor Sule Iko remains a member of the ADC, referencing a court order that prohibits Sufiyanu Bala from acting as a party leader.
“A High Court sitting in Kebbi State has issued an interim injunction preventing three officials of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from presenting themselves as members of the party’s state executive committee,” the factional chairman remarked.
He emphasized that the faction will continue to uphold the rule of law and ensure that only legitimate officers manage the affairs of the ADC in Kebbi State.
