Young Brits will have 30 per cent of their apprentice wages covered by the taxpayer under Reform plans for a major “skills revolution”
Small businesses will save £4,000 a year if they choose to hire 16-18 year-old apprentices, the party’s education spokesperson Ms Braverman said.
She told The Sun: “In terms of Mickey Mouse courses, listen, this has been well chronicled for many years. Whether it’s Gender Studies, whether it’s Golf Course Studies I think I’ve seen, there’s not a necessity, there’s not a value in many of these degrees.
“Now I know that might be uncomfortable for those people who have those qualifications. But the reality is, you’ve got to ask yourself, what are your graduate outcomes you in have in mind?”
Thousands of students opened their GCSE results this morning as the key pass rate falls to pre-pandemic lows.
Ms Braverman said youngsters should think twice about racking up £50,000 worth of debt to study a pointless three-year course at university.
She said: “Young people are coming out of university unable to get on to the housing ladder. Unable and unwilling to get married, unable to start a family.
“Why? Because they’re starting off with their hands tied behind their back because they’ve been sold a lie that university is the pathway to success.”

It will cost taxpayers’ around £1.5billion over five years with Reform insisting the bill will be clawed back elsewhere.
Teenagers should look at AI-proof trades which are unlikely to be wiped out by new tech, Ms Braverman added.
She said: “AI is not going to be able to paint a room. I think employers are feeling the impact of AI, there are which are being replaced by AI. We’re all feeling it and it’s coming faster and faster.
“And that’s why my advice for young people is be very aware of the changing labour market and prepare yourself accordingly.”
