The Chairperson of the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Ezihe Lydia Onuoha, has emphasized that sports play a crucial role in delivering quality education, highlighting that athletics extend beyond mere extracurricular activities.

Onuoha made these remarks on Thursday at the Basic Education School Sports (BEES) State Finals held at Umuahia Township Stadium, an event organized by ASUBEB in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
