POP superstar Shakira has delighted football fans after announcing she will perform this summer’s official World Cup song.

The Colombian singer is a cult figure among football fans after releasing her hit classic Waka Waka for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

And 16 years later she is coming out with a brand new track for the upcoming called Dai Dai.

The song, which translates to “let’s go” is set to be released on May 14 and features singer Burna Boy.

released a teaser of the song in a video on social media featuring her in the middle of the Maracana Stadium in .

She wrote: “From Maracaná Stadium, here is “Dai Dai,” the @FIFAWorldCup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready! @burnaboy.”

The video shows Shakira wearing a yellow top and blue shorts while holding a football.

She is joined by a group of people wearing the colours of different countries before performing a dance routine.

The clip finishes with the camera zooming out of the stadium with fireworks exploding in the background.

The words “we are ready” appear then on top of the arena.

Fans reacted with joy and hailed her return to recording a World Cup song again.

One wrote on X: “Queen is back to save the World Cup!”

Another said: “It’s already on repeat. She’s the queen of the World Cup.”

A third added: “When you hear Shakira just know the World Cup is gonna be massive!”

And another commented: “Love it! Waka Waka remains one of the greatest World Cup hits ever.”

Shakira previously dated former international and spent 11 years with the ex-Barcelona defender.

They were never married but had two sons together, Milan and Sasha.

The 2026 World Cup starts on June 11 with hosts playing South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium.

The final will be held at the MetLife Stadium in on July 19.
