A SCHOOLGIRL has carried out a deranged attack during an algebra lesson, critically injuring her classmates and teacher, reports say.

The 14-year-old Russian student allegedly threw a “Molotov cocktail” into the classroom on Wednesday, igniting a fire that caught the blinds alight and spread up the walls.

As students attempted to flee, she allegedly stood by the exit and struck those running out with a hammer.

The suspect – named by Russian media as Vlada – has been detained and is being questioned along with her mother.

Five students at School No. 153 in Krasnoyarsk – 2,100 miles east of Moscow – sustained traumatic injuries, The Moscow Times reported.

One student sustained burns to around 50 per cent of his body and is in serious condition.

A girl is in critical condition after suffering a head wound and is being transferred to Moscow by air ambulance, said the Russian Health Ministry.

The teacher suffered smoke inhalation, local outlet NGS24.RU reported .

The Investigative Committee, Russia’s top investigative body, has launched a criminal probe into the attack.

Vlada had allegedly signalled her intentions in advance, posting messages in a school chat announcing she would commit arson and created a poll asking which teacher should be attacked.

The message read: “A chemistry teacher or a history teacher?”

Students described the attacker as quiet and withdrawn.

Media reports claim she was mocked by classmates, including being called a “hikikomori” — a term for people who are socially isolated.

The suspect’s sister claimed Vlada was bullied by her classmates because of her appearance and clothing.

She said Vlada, “felt lonely and often came home from school in tears”.

Krasnoyarsk Mayor Sergei Vereshchagin said: “The actions of the school staff must be assessed, and the issue of bullying must not be overlooked”.

School administrators denied the existence of bullying.

It was the third attack within the Russian school system in two days, amid fears Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine is encouraging children into acts of violence.

On Tuesday, Krasnoyarsk police arrested a student in the town of Kodinsk after she allegedly stabbed a classmate and tried to attack a teacher.

Also on Tuesday, a teacher was allegedly shot in the eye by a student at a school in Ufa, Russia.

The student allegedly arrived armed with an airsoft “traumatic” weapon, firing several shots at pupils and a teacher.

His history teacher was allegedly struck in the eye.
