GETTING onto the property ladder is hard enough these days.
So when Polly saw her dream come up for auction, she seized the opportunity to try and snap it up – and managed to do so for just £132,000.

And while the property needs a LOT of work, she didn’t want to buy a new build
She’s also doing the entire renovation herself, and is learning new skills daily
the two-bed abandoned abode in was the easy part, as she’s now got a long journey ahead of her trying to renovate it – which she’s attempting to do herself.
She’s been documenting the process in videos on her TikTok page, and showed herself clearing the garden in a recent clip.
“I paid £132,000 for this abandoned house at auction and it definitely needs to say the least,” she began.
“But it is in my dream location and that is what set this house apart from all the others that I was looking to buy.
“It was actually below my price range because it was in such a bad state.”
Polly, who estimates she saved around £30,000 to £40,000 on the property by purchasing it at auction, and added she thinks “nobody else wanted it because of the amount of work that needs doing”.
“But in a world full of new build buyers, I saw the potential to turn this into my dream home!” she said.
She’s also using the renovation process to teach herself new skills, as she said: “Honestly I’m loving how much I’m learning every single day!”
And she’s also hoping the property brings in a nice payday for her too, as she expects she’ll make between £80,000 and £100,000 if and when she sells it.
People were quick to comment on Polly’s video, with one writing: “Fantastic.
“I renovated my house … it’s so worth it … can’t wait to see this!”
“Bought my first house at 23 too (25 years ago) and it was hard work but really paid off,” another added.
“Looking forward to seeing how you get on.”
“Good honest attitude from this girl, gets my support and look forward to seeing you turn the house into something great,” a third commented.
“I love people renovating houses!” someone else added.
“It gives respect to a place someone probably loved, it saves resources for the whole world, it improves the condition of the neighbourhood… it seems hard work, for sure, but it is a great gesture.”
