ITV broadcasters were forced to leave their traditional World Cup studio on Thursday.

Mark Pougatch and his three analysts were on air from 8pm UK time building up to the first quarter-final.

The weather was set fair in Boston as France took on Morocco.

But lightning in New York meant ITV’s team were forced to move to their indoor studio during the show.

Pougatch, Roy Keane, Patrick Vieira and Ian Wright all headed to the backup set indoors.

It’s not the first time ITV has been forced to make use of their indoor studio during this World Cup.

The broadcaster has been based in Brooklyn this summer with a backdrop of Downtown Manhattan.

The weather in New York has been very unpredictable, and one particular evening was so bad that fans thought the studio was going to blow away.
