He will be joined at the dinner – which takes place two days before the tournament begins, on April 7 – by his fellow former champions and chairman of Augusta National Fred Ridley.

McIlroy, 36, has drawn on inspiration from a number of sources for his menu, including a favourite restaurant and his best friend on the tour, Shane Lowry.

His Ryder Cup team-mate helped McIlroy choose the wine list, which includes a 1990 Bordeaux red, which sells for £1,000 ($1,300) a bottle.

While McIlroy has taken inspiration from one of his favourite restaurants Le Bernardin – a three-Michelin-star establishment in Manhattan, New York – for his Yellowfin tuna carpaccio starter.

For the main – Wagyu Filet Mignon or Seared Salmon – he has picked childhood favourite Irish Champ to accompany, along with sauteed Brussels sprouts, carrots, and onion rings.

McIlroy explained: “When I was a kid, I used to eat champ by the bowl full. So I’m trying to tie in a little bit of my upbringing.”

His victory last year has also had an influence on his selection of appetisers, which include elk sliders, rock shrimp tempura, peach and ricotta flatbread, and bacon-wrapped dates, with the latter inspired by his mother’s recipe.

The Northern Irishman added: “In the build up to the Masters last year, I was eating a lot of elk. I got this big shipment of elk, and I was eating a lot of that.

“[But] I didn’t want elk to be the main course, because I didn’t know if everyone would like that, so I incorporated it into the appetisers .”

McIlroy has also gone with a crowd pleaser for his dessert – sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream and warm toffee sauce.

McIlroy’s menu has been a long time in the making after he finally won The Masters in his 17th attempt.

He needed a play-off to defeat Englishman Justin Rose after holding the lead going into the final day.
