The Chief Imam of University of Ibadan, Professor Ibrahim Uthman, has declared that there is no justification for any Muslim in Nigeria to go against the directive of the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, who doubles as President-General of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
Uthman, a professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies, made this declaration on Friday shortly after he led the Muslim congregation to observe the two obligatory Rakat in commemoration of this year’s Eld-Fitri festival.
DAILY POST reports that Muslims across the globe celebrated Eld-Fitri to mark the end of this year’s Ramadan fast on Friday.

Ibrahim while addressing the gathering, noted that the Sultan of Sokoto has unified Nigerian Muslims and has eradicated all the imbalances between the North and the South, especially on issues concerning Ramadan fast.
He said, “There is no justification for any Muslim in Nigeria to go against the directive of the Sultan of Sokoto. We thank God that we have a leader that has brought changes especially on issues concerning Ramadan fast.
“Before he got there we used to have discrepancies, we have fasted for 28 days before, but since he came on board, everything has been in order.
“We pray for all our leaders, religious and political leaders. May God continue to guide them to the right path. Amen.
“Allah is great. He has fulfilled His promise on us. Let us continue to appreciate Almighty Allah. Let us continue to preach good things that Almighty Allah has commanded us to do.”
