Spread over 40 acres, the iconic site opened its doors in 1971 and could host up to 3,500 guests.

Over half a century later, only security guards and flocks of seagulls remain to watch over the once buzzing holiday hotspot.

But now, Pontins Prestatyn could be set to make a comeback, reports WalesOnline .
In 2011, Britannia Hotel Group purchased the Pontins brand for £20million after the operator fell into administration.
Despite promising to restore the Pontins portfolio of holiday parks, a reported lack of investment led to the site in North Wales closing for good in 2023.
Becky Gittins, MP for Clwyd East, is said to have met with Britannia bosses in autumn last year with plans for another meeting later this month.
According to Gittins, discussions with another company have taken place over the redevelopment of the now derelict Pontins site.
Plans could see significant investment to re-open the site as a family holiday park.
Gittins also stressed at the time that there were no plans to use the park to house asylum seekers
She said at the time: “Britannia have assured me throughout that the sole purpose of the future development will be for a family holiday park. I continue to press for a swift and positive resolution.”
The Sun has reached out to Britannia Hotel Group and Prestatyn Council for comment.
