Is StartUp canceled?

If you’re a crime drama enthusiast then you’ve likely already binged your way through the first three seasons of StartUp, a series that debuted on Netflix on May 4.

However, for those whose interests are now peaked, this Crackle original starring Adam Brody, Edi Gathegi, Otmara Marrero, Ron Perlman, and Martin Freeman takes viewers on a ride involving cryptocurrency.

Nick Talman, Ronald Dacey, and Izzy Morales are the mismatched trio behind a start-up company that deals in GenCoin. Like any entrepreneurial venture, they’re all in, but there’s a problem. An FBI agent thinks there’s something funny about their money considering Nick’s father is a swindler in his own right.

It’s a situation that calls for the kind of con that keeps this so-called company afloat and will require high-stakes corruption and a tie to a Miami gang.

So far three seasons of StartUp have been released, however, the third season took its bow in 2018 leaving a fourth season hanging in the air. Here’s what we know about a possible season 4 for the series.

Was StartUp canceled?

StartUp was never officially canceled by Crackle. Decider reports, the streamer, which was a Sony property, was sold to Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment in 2019.

At this point, it doesn’t look like Crackle will be investing in a fourth season of the show since it’s been three years since the last season released. However, Netflix acquiring distribution rights for the series does have us wondering if the streamer could bring a season 4 under its banner.

It’s a long shot considering StartUp isn’t a Netflix original, but the show wouldn’t be the first series brought onto the platform that transitions into their ownership. Though that’s usually been done with series that have been canceled by networks not other streamers.
