Members of the Osun State House of Assembly have unanimously passed a vote of confidence, endorsing Governor Ademola Adeleke for a second term ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election in the state.

The endorsement was made during a plenary session onTuesday, where the 26-member Assembly, comprised of 25 members from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and one from the All Progressives Congress, APC, expressed their full support for the governor.

Presiding over the session, Speaker, Adewale Egbedun praised the governor’s achievements in celebration of his 65th birthday.

He commended the governor for his dedication to the development of Osun State, highlighting his impactful governance and commitment to his five-point agenda.

The Speaker emphasised that the lawmakers, as representatives of the people, took pride in the governor’s leadership and urged him to continue striving for even greater accomplishments.

While inviting his colleagues to share their thoughts on the endorsement, Simeon Popoola, representing the Boripe-Boluwaduro State Constituency, delivered a heartfelt tribute to the governor, praising his integrity and genuine nature.

He said, “Politics aside, Mr Governor is a plain-minded personality, loving and genuine. These attributes have greatly assisted him in his performance.”;;
